When you apply for your duplicate MOT certificate our in-house MOT data checking systems and staff are utilised to first cross check that a current MOT certificate can be issued, this is done before we ask you for payment and displayed to you so that you can be sure you wish to order your replacement MOT. Customers are then transferred to PayPal for payment processing and then back to a 'Thank You' screen…. But behind the scenes our job is not yet done, from the information you have given us we acquire further information from leading database suppliers and collate all the necessary information needed to allow us to use the DVSA systems supplied to our authorised facilities and our authorised MOT Testers to issue the duplicate you have requested, then convert the local printable version into a PDF document which we can email to you, allowing you to print off a hard copy at home and to save the PDF for future use.
Simple, with us the lost MOT service can be conducted from the comfort of your home or the convenience of your mobile phone. We do all the hard work and best of all we charge exactly the same rate as MOT testing Stations across the UK. The DVSA set the rate for Duplicate MOTs at £10 each.
During mid October 2011 VOSA withdrew the pre-printed MOT test certificates that we had all been used to up until that time. Following the introduction of the new computerised MOT test system VOSA opted to allow the MOT certificate to be printed on plain A4 paper, this allowed VOSA to reduce printing costs considerably and at the same time allowed all MOT Testing Stations to print advisories directly onto the MOT certificate, thus making all advisories clear to anyone who had sight of a cars current MOT certificate.
An MOT test certificate can only be issued by an authorised testing facility. This may be a privately run garage or a Government run testing facility. A duplicate test certificate can also be issued by any approved MOT Testing Facility, if the vehicle was tested at that MOT garage then you will only be required to give details of the car registration and chassis number, if you visit a test station that did not test your vehicle you will need the registration, chassis number and log book or V5C document. (You can swap the V5C information for the certificate number of your last MOT test, but its seems unlikely you will have that to hand if you are needing a replacement MOT certificate.
The Lost MOT certificate website is owned and operated by the CCM Group who own and operate two Approved Testing Facilities in Surrey & Sussex. We carry out MOT tests on motorcycles, cars and class 7 trucks and vans, and are authorised to issue Duplicate MOT Certificates by DVSA. CCM have been fixing cars and carrying out MOT tests since 1993 so we are not some fly by night web scheme, we are a well-established and reliable garage.
The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) has replaced the older VOSA department and is responsible for Driving Licences, Driving Tests, MOT Testing, Vehicle recalls & Road Safety. DVSA are tasked with setting and upholding the standards for driving, motorcycling, vehicle operators and MOT testing as well as licensing safety education and enforcement services. As a Licensed Testing Facility operator CCM Group is monitored and regulated by DVSA.
